I – CAUSES
1- Economic situation
The economic pressure of developped countries which are pushing down prices when they buy to little farmers is one of the main cause of undernishment. Farmers can’t hold up low prices and put them into dept, after that they migrate to cities to find industrial jobs. This create a lack of food in poor countries. Countries have to import product : this is called « food dependance ». Importation break down local market.
2- Climate
Poor countries haven’t way to face drought and flood. Climate creates inequalities. In africa, with the lack of water, fields can’t be irrigated, by the other side, rich countries in the north with continental climate over use water. This explains the stagnation of agriculture in Africa. Another reason is that heat increase the lack of water and water is the main element of life.
3- CONTEXT
Because of wars, the best part try to impoverish the other part confiscating the food ressources and it creates undernurishment. Moreover african countries are overpopulated and bad distribution create a lack of food. Finally dirty and unvariety food cause diseases.
II – CONSEQUENCIES
Undernurishment produce a lot of body’s problems. It’s often thinness problem like loss of fat or loss of muscle mass. Other organs are damaged like heart and generally lack of physical energy. More over some people are victim of defiency or diarreha. In the worse case, people die.
2- Psychological disease
The worse suffering caused by undernurishment are shame and anxiety. Famished is fiting against his dignity. The father can’t fed his family and the mother stay with her empty hands face to the child who is crying. Day after day and night after night hunger diminished resistance of adults.
III – SOLUTIONS
It was introduce in 2000. Africa has got lot of agricol possessions like cacao, coffee, coton and oil. Creation of good jobs in farm for example or in fields for little producer. It help little producer to developp and sell more food. People from rich countries buy product more expensive but they help africans to develop their agriculture.
Children in africa don’t have access to school. This causes a lack of information about nutrition and the needed of a normal person. Parents don’t feed their children as they should and they suffer of deficiency. For example in Bengladesh, kids face a lack of calcium. Their bones are broken. Organisation give them dietary supplement.
3- FOOD WASTAGE
The production of food grows faster than world population. So we can feed the world. The reason why many people can’t be feed is the food wastage. The challenge of those next years will be to reduce food wastage and a better repartition of ressources. We are all responsable of this wastage. 1/3 of the food production is losed.
